Nice Long Weekend
We had a lovely July 4th holiday (four days off this year) and really enjoyed every part of it! Here are some of the things we did:
– Won a regatta (sailing) on a friends Melges 24 which totally changed our perspective of the sport and we want to get more into it with time and experience… maybe even on our own boat one day?
– Went to see Tim McGraw at summerfest, which easily was the best concert I have been too. He had an 11 piece band backing him up and they were tight (played together for 10 years). I knew almost every song he played too. Great show… I highly recommend it.
– Took the boat out to see the July 4th fireworks. As it turns out, July 3rd is the BIG Milwaukee fireworks show (1hr long), but July 4th all the communities host their own shows… If you are on the lake, like we were, you can see a bunch of them. We counted more than 12 individual shows that lasted well over an hour all from the first to last sparkle.
– Took some friends on our boat out a few miles (200+ ft deep) and went swimming in Lake MI. Here are some new pics from the boat … now you’ll recognize our sails (blue and white diagonal stripes) when we’re out, they are the only ones like it in Milwaukee
– Went on a couple of bike rides with Cathy
– Did some gardening around the house
– Completely cleaned out our kitchen cabinets from all the old expired can goods, etc. The winner: A Feb 2004 can of beans. Can you believe it? Feb 2004 expiry puts the purchase date into 2003! Ha! We recently did the same thing with our medicine cabinet.

I drank six beers and played video games by myself in my apartment. I heard some fireworks going off. They sounded spectacular.
