New (old) Sailboat
As many of you know, Cathy and I really enjoyed our last summer in part due to our ability to go out sailing with friends since we joined the Milwaukee Yacht Club. Over the long, cold winter we toyed with the idea of buying our own sailboat; thinking that we would enjoy it a lot more than the smaller, unmotorized boats we have access to through the club. We also thought we would be able to take more friends out on something of our own more comfortably and just overall enjoy the summer a lot more.
A couple of weeks ago we actually took the plunge and bought a sailboat of our own! It’s a 1972 Ericson 27’, and we are very excited about it!
We have a long list of projects and a lot of lipstick and rouge before it is in the shape we want it to be, but this weekend with the help of a friend from church (Glenn) and Tim we were able to get the sails up and even take her out for a maiden voyage! It was spectacular! I cant wait to show you more pics, and even get you out there…

awesome dude, looks really cool. 2 questions, what’s the name of the boat? and have you thought about pirating?
