Update 3
State Farm wants to fix my truck. They think the cost of repair is going to be far less, about half, of what the body shop thinks its going to be… so away we go! The body shop said they would take photos and send them over in the next couple of days, I’ll post them as soon as I get them.

Update 2
The car is now at the shop. It crashed at about 35 mph into a tree, head on. Airbags deployed and the front end is really messed up. The estimator said it would probably cost about $14K and take 4 weeks to repair. We are hoping for a total loss so we can just go get a new car…

So the cops found the car…
He noticed it at an intersection where it looked out of place and decided to run the plates. When it came up stolen he tried to pull the perp over, but he took off. After a breif pursuit, the perp ran into a tree at 35mph, got out of the car and ran on foot. The cops caught him and he is in jail tonight…

Tomorrow morning we were asked to go downtown to give a statement and press charges for Grand Theft Auto. I’ll let you know how that is.

Ok… so this is just getting ridiculous

Someone stole Cathy’s car on Friday night!

This makes six times our cars have been messed with since we moved to WI 3-4 years ago… this being the most serious of course. SIX Times!

We did the normal stuff… called the police, filed an insurance claim, and now we wait and see if it shows up. The Acura folks don’t think it will because it uses a transponder key that tells the car it’s ok to start. Which means that whoever stole it, wanted it – not just some joy ride. Therefore it is probably either parted out, or on a boat to Russia…

So, we are in the market for a new car, again…
