Beach (Bradford?) Cruiser
I want a new bike… specifically a cruiser.
I’ve been riding a “department store” vintage 1960’s bike for a while now, but I really want to start riding more often with Cathy now that we live in a more bike friendly environment. She’s up for it too, but the thing is both of our bikes need some work.
She is on a mountain bike right now, that we are thinking of getting commuter tires and a better, more comfy seat for. My bike needs some gears so I can keep up with her. Instead of redoing my bike entirely though, I am leaning more toward getting a new or old one. I’ve been looking at some vintage Schwinn bikes… from a corvette to a phantom and a typhoon … but these old bikes, although really cool, don’t generally have the multi speed capability I want. I refuse to remove original parts from a classic cruiser, so that leaves me with finding one that was originally multispeed or buying a new bike outright that is in a vintage style. I am leaning in this direction, and this bike has caught my fancy recently…
